The season has been over for 5 days and none of them have entered the portal while dozens have hit the portal each day across NCAA in that same timespan.
No, they are not waiting. They cannot enter the portal until Monday as I had said, in the first post on this thread.
While tomorrow marks Day 1 of the transfer portal officially opening for everyone, grad transfers and players whose coaches left were able to enter early.

I think they can. Other (many) players have entered the portal. They just can't transfer until the window opens.
At least this is my understanding. If not, then why have guys been entering the portal for the past couple of weeks?

They have been about 50 of them. If you don’t meet the above criteria, you must wait until tomorrow

Thank you. Almost 11 hours and still no one from/to NIU.
Amos' HS teammate from UM is in the portal. They are adding a few each minute, so you need to give it some time. They probably have a huge backlog to get on the site.

Oh well, I guess the Flood Gate has opened. Lucky to reach double digit wins in 24/25 based on the level of turnover. I absolutely need a hobby to replace following College Basketball and Football. This is just hard to take.

There's no way we are ever going to be decent even. It's just not in our cards.

Frustrating - was hoping Coit was the one to transfer and not these two if we were going to lose someone.
Only positive I can think of is with these two we maxed out at 13/11 wins, but need more Williams esque players on the receiving end of the portal and less Durosinmi/Butler/Muhammed limited role guys.

Wish I could join you in seeing anything positive for this team in 24/25. It is going to be another Dumpster fire. Granted the team did not win much with Nutter and Amos, but they missed a lot of time. I blame Coit for more losses than them. He won the team a few games, but his lack of defense and no ability to create for others on the team more than offset this. Who would want to coach at this level given that your roster will be unknown each year.

When I saw this post I figured he was transferring. For one, I don't recognize that gym and two, his X account had been stripped of anything NIU.
Amos doesn't surprise me either. If he can stay healthy, he can be a help to a team, if not...

Muhammed was a HS senior when recruited and can be a good depth piece at the PG position.
As for Duro and Butler...eh, they have their benefits and I'd probably rather grab guys like that from the portal as opposed to getting one out of HS.
But, like you said, with Nutter and Amos, they didn't exactly over-achieve, even with both healthy and playing.
So be it....
Amos stings a bit. He developed really well under Burno who recruited him out of college and then worked with him through an injury filled freshman season where, when he played, looked nothing like the guy who played this year.
But loyalty is gone and the grass is always greener. Screw hard work and commitment.

Losing Nutter & Amos is really tough news.
The transfer portal takes, but it also gives- hopefully Burno will be able to sign some ballers this off season.

Hopefully guys that shoot better than 65% from the FT line.
