Just for ***** I would love to see how many other offers these guys had.

These guys had offers, it’s unfair to say because 24/7 didn’t cover a guy that he had no offers.

Ahmir Smith has offers from sunbelt schools. A lot of these southern kids did along with the FCS of the south as well.
03-shhhh
03-shhhh03-shhhh03-shhhh03-shhhhI understand 247, and other sites, have a lot to cover with all the recruits in the south and all the big time offers - but these lower end guys still have offers.

Now, is the questions are we beating any p5 schools? Not really. Hammock doesn’t do that. But other schools, yes.

BC? Georgia Tech?

Oh, that’s right. I did see an asterisk next to those games in the yearly results.

Beating them out for recruits. Not on the field.

He must be a walk-on since he's not on the NIU website but Brother Rice held a "signing day" event for three of their kids, including Rickey.

Rickey definitely looks like a high school kid. But that was the knock on Kenny G when he came outta Rita. He was 6'3 175, but one helluva route runner. He grew into his frame and the rest is history.

He didn't play much his senior season, missing 7 of their 10 games. Broke his collarbone in week 3. Probably made schools back off his recruitment. Brother Rice was a .500 team this year at 5-5. They had a couple close losses. He also runs track.

Here's some of his junior year highlights:

Edit: Confirmed he is a walk-on.

This 1980 Brother Rice grad is happy to see. And don’t worry about Rickey’s size, he’s likely been eating in the BR cafeteria for 4 years and those small hamburger like objects and “pudding” don’t help the appetite.

I am more concerned about home runs in transfer portal. Probably no one on that signed will make an impact next year and if they are a stud, 5hey 2ill be one and done

Seems pretty accurate to me. Obviously, one never knows how a recruiting class will develop, but, on paper, I am not very impressed with this class.

Since transfer portal, haven't had a home run true freshman. Ducker was third string starting the season.

The team next season is a veteran team, so hopefully zero.

Again I ask, has a one and done ever happened here? Or how about anywhere in the country for the non p5 schools? How common is this fear?

I will say, I do like this class. I feel like we added some really good depth to our team, and I like the measurables we got in terms of size and speed. Going to be fun to watch and see these young men develop in the program and see them step up when its their time to shine. I personally like the QB we got from American River CC Kenny Lueth, I feel like he could be a Starter Week 1 next year, but he is going to have to go out and earn that

In the press conference Hammock said Ingold (Edge) could contribute year, never heard of a NIU coach making that kind of statement about a lineman. I assume a RB could add something as well, like both backs and they have different styles. I like this WR La'Don Bryant, but I think the WR room is pretty filled with the transfers and returnees.

No because haven't had a stud freshman walk in and dominate. Therefore transfer portal helps immediately
