link for 2007 MLB payrolls. Its amazing, most Sox fans (that I talk to atleast) always say that the Cubs should be winning because of the money they spend, but they dont realize that the Sox spend more money.

im actually surprised by that after the cubs spending spree

Actually the Sox payroll is inflated in these rankings. This has Thome's full salary from the contract he signed with the Phillies, but when he was traded to the Sox, the Phillies gave the Sox $22 million to cover a lot of his remaining contract.
