For the 7th time in 12 years (98,00,01,02,05,08 & 10) . 14K at Allstate for Saturday nite's regular season finale. Opening round vs the reviled Milwaukee Admirals. Any college, minor league or major professional franchise that wants to know what it takes to succeed in a very busy pro sports market should study this organization and all they have done to put themselves in the position they are in.

:iagree: In terms of WL record, they are definately the most succesful sports franchise in Chicagoland, although the Cougars are in a close second.

Last year, they were a victim of their own success as all their star players from the '08 championship team got called up, but one year later, they are back on top.

Glad that Rockford made the playoffs. Their inclusion and being able to watch the Blackhawks best farmhands vs the Wolves(hopefully) should boost playoff attendance. Only wish Peoria and Grand Rapids had made it as well.

RE: How about those Wolves?
Cougars have definitely been successful, but that success has gone to their heads. Raising ticket prices by $1 on Fridays and $2 on Saturdays last year was a bad marketing move. A HS friend of mine who is on the concession staff there told me their attendance was down 25-30% between the ticket price increase and the weather. Cougar tickets are now $1-$3 per game higher than the lowest price Wolves seats. All state is so large you can buy a $9 seat and sit almost anywhere you want.

Wolves have been the most successful Chicago sport franchise since the Bulls heyday from 90 to 98.

If I can make another apples to oranges comparison, for the Wolves to win the Championship, they have to be the best out of 29 teams. The Cougars have to be the best of 16.

Go Wolves!
Go Cougars!

Wolves lead the series 2-1 with game 4 being played in Milwaukee. Rockford is down 0-2 to Texas(Austin).

RE: How about those Wolves?
I hope Saturday's game was just a fluke (6-0 Milwaukee). Wolves still lead series 2-1, and hopefully they can win it in Chicago (Rosemont, actually) on Wednesday.

RE: How about those Wolves?
Wolves finally take it in seven. It seemed like the Admirals would never go away.

Blackhawk factor:

On the downside, the Wolves are getting overshadowed by the Blackhawks, so noone in the media seems to be paying attention to the Wolves. I do not have Comcast cable, so I can not see their games on the tube.

On the upside, since the Blackhawks are still in it, they could not send down any of their players to Rockford, who lost. Also, Nashville could not send any of their players down to help out the Admirals.
